Q5 Safaris is a small, locally based safari company in Äkäslompolo, at the foot of the Ylläs fells. We guide snowmobile, husky, snowshoe and skiing experiences in the landscapes of Pallas–Yllästunturi.
Local knowledge and personal service
Our guides live in the area and know the snow, trails and weather through every season. We invest in good personal service and keep groups to a maximum of 8 people so the day feels personal, and we adapt routes to the conditions rather than following a fixed script.
The landscapes of Pallas–Yllästunturi
Pallas–Yllästunturi National Park is one of Finland's oldest and most loved protected areas — a chain of rounded fells (tunturi) stretching across western Lapland. Our experiences take place in these landscapes; not every safari enters the national park itself, and we plan each route to suit the day.
The safari house in Äkäslompolo
Our safari house operates within the main building of Hotel Ylläshumina in Äkäslompolo. The safari house is where you will meet with our guides and get your equipment and thermal clothing for your activities.
How the experiences are planned
We plan each day around the weather, snow and the people in the group. The weekly programme offers shared departures through the season; private and tailor-made days can be arranged on request.
